IZ: People who get easily offended when people try to define them as something they don’t feel they are / people who obviously have morals are often high on Fi. Compare these Lisa Kudrow (laughing fit) and Matt Leblanc (f-you) responses to mean tweets or how an ENFJ and an ESFP react to being insulted. ENFJs don’t have obvious morals.

anonymous asked: which is the main difference in character between infj and isfj? they seem to close and i have no idea which one of them i am
IZ: You are a witness at the scene of a crime. May you be relied upon to give a detailed and accurate report to the police? If yes, you might have more Si than Ni.
Since you asked a blog, there is always a happy chance you are not sceptical/paranoid enough for either type.
MS: Ok, on the one hand, infj-zen and my ISFJ mom are at the super introverted end of the scale, and I can tell she’s basing this answer on that. On the other hand, if you keep getting one or the other type as a test result, it’s also possible that you’re a shadow-functioning extravert. An ESTP with the same functions as an INFJ, but you’re clearly an S-type, for example, so you keep testing as an ISFJ.
Guest-post day.
In not-a-typing news, I’ve sent a bunch of your asks to infj-zen in
an attempt to galvanize myself into getting them answered. All of her
answers will be marked IZ: and will continue on in italics.
and all of my commentary will be marked MS:
anonymous asked: Could Seth Meyers be ENTP?
IZ: I have not yet seen him having an existential crisis.
anonymous asked: Little things you notice about entps?
IZ: Existential crises.
How do I make sure i am truly an infj? And can this type be humorous/funny/goofy?

Mind reading exercise: pause and predict the answers. Click here.

Can you tell me more about how Barack Obama embodies the ENTP type. I agree with your typing, I just want to better understand his end of the ENTP spectrum.
infj-zen says:
- He does not have high Te like Bill or Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden; they are all very able to speak fluidly, on the spot, and at length on a wide range of topics of which they have little background knowledge. With Ti, it helps to have a lot of background knowledge. Note his reliance on the teleprompter to be super fluid as a speaker in front of an audience.
- He emotes well during speeches, when he is prepared. However, when he’s tired, he is often accused of looking extremely unenthusiastic and demotivational. Tertiary Fe.
- Picks arguments about factual inaccuracies (Ti).
- As a young adult, goes on a journey to learn about his father/the past and write a book about it. Developing inferior Si. This balances out or grounds his theories (of race relations, politics, etc.) in reality.
- Engaging writing style, narrative voice, good at finding and sharing the most interesting things (Ne).
- Movement style: not particularly fluid; does not sit very straight/still; head and shoulders moving around in interviews/debates.
- He seems like an extrovert; always outwardly engaging people with his ideas. He lasted eight years in a particularly high stress job with a focus on the latter. Good at juggling a lot of different things at once.
- Works hard at sports, running, basketball, golf. Uses sports for stress relief. However, not known as the most talented athlete. Bowling disaster on the campaign trail, golf woes… not necessarily a natural when trying a sport for the first time.
- For comparison, he and Jerry Seinfeld (who we also have as an entp) are pretty much on the same level in that episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
I like the way you type organically, and found interesting how you identify an INTJ, including the speech patterns, and tensness of shoulders and arms. Is there anything such that you pick up on on ESFP people? What are the things about them that tip you off to the type?
infj-zen says:
- Head and shoulders move around more, less tension/more fluidity in body movement. They seem to carry their weight in their hips when they walk.
- Flirty, maintain less personal space in interviews. Seem to occupy a lot of space in a room.
- Usually have a strong focus/awareness/opinions about personal presentation, their own image.
- Able to speak at length, quickly and articulately, on the spot. Sometimes have a big laugh. Seem to have a tendency to latch on to and frequently use common catchphrases such as “you know what I mean?”
- Usually have/seek out a wide circle of friends or acquaintances.
- Tendency to talk out loud and at length about their personal drama. Reality tv, talk shows love them.
- Seem to trust their intuition even when it is not so well grounded (inferior Ni).
Couple of questions! Not to say ENTJs can’t be like this, but Pronce William is always very warm and accommodating with people. Could he be an ENFJ? And which ISTPs does Prince Harry remind you of? It’s interesting to see him typed as an introvert!
infj-zen says:
William seems like a lot of others with dominant Te: talks quickly and seems to never be at a loss for words. Does not really emote a lot outwardly. Warm and accommodating is part of his role.
Harry: Andre de Grasse is also media trained and uses a lot of Fe; Usain Bolt seems to really ❤ both!
INFJ and the not so psychic phenomenon
I have infj-zen here, today, too, so I asked her to explain the INFJ-psychic thing. –mbti-sorted
