I
am at a loss with testing. I can not for the life of me figure out my
true type. Do you feel there is  a definitive test out there for type or
is it something that has to be done by listening and observing? Or have
you been asked this a zillion times….

Im
questioning my type ahm i did the test and all and i got infj-t and
what it said on the site was pretty accurate but the real life people i
see that are infj arent really like me, so it might be because of the
variant but idk… the
thing about the test is that i dont communicatee with people offline as
much as i do online…. i like talking to people online but hate
talking to people offline

There is no definitive test that generates perfect results all the time (sorry).

I’ve replied to a bunch of similar asks on the “not a typing post” tag, if you’re interested in things I’ve had to say.

All in all, though, I cannot see or hear you, so I’m not going to be much help in typing you.  I can kind of get a sense of you through writing, sometimes, but like 90%+ of the authors I’ve tried to type from their writing, I’ve been way off about when I’ve gone to watch video later.  You’re much better off taking the time watching video of people I’ve typed and trying to figure out where you might fit in.  Watch critically; I’m not always right!  And good luck.

So I’m beyond confused, I was the anon that said that they always get isfj on the mbti test even though they think theyre an enfp. I’m super confused because I’m now considering whether I’m actually an istj because I’m way too ocd and organized to be an enfp but im definitely a feeler, or is it possible that I’m an infp stuck in a fi – si loop? Sorry this is so confusing.

You still sound like an ENFP to me.

Sorry, I forgot to mention in my earlier ask! I have taken a Myers-Briggs test before, haha. Many, many times. I always either get ESTP or ENTP, really depending on my mood. The S-N divide is always minimal. Though, I have noticed the more energy I have, the more I lean towards the S side of the spectrum.

Um, okay, that kind of sounds like it is basing results on what you are doing and not how you’re thinking about it.  Can you name an activity you do and why you like doing it?

Actually, no, probably don’t do that.  I need to stop trying to type people from writing… yikes.  Watch interviews, let me know what you think.

How do I tell if I am an ESTP or ENTP? I took a Jungian Functions test and it listed my main functions, in order, as Se-Ne-Ti-Ni. I feel like in some situations I act more Se while in others I act more Ne. I have the imagination of a Ne-dominant person but the thirst for excitement of an Se-dominant person.

Have you tried a Myers Briggs test/Keirsey temperament sorter?  It will at least give you one type and how close you were on S/N, which might be helpful.

Also, watch video of the ESTPs and ENTPs in my tag.  See which is more like you.  See who other people think is more like you.

If I had to pick, I’d say ENTP, but I don’t really have anything to back it up.

Okay, so I have this problem. I believe that I’m an ENFP but every time I’ve taken the MBTI test I’ve gotten ISFJ as the result. I believe that I’m an ENFP because I have acted like ENFP’s in the past and I physically look like ENFP’s. But I also think that I’m an ISFJ because I’m OCD about cleaning and I can be incredibly organized, I’m also responsible and super loyal. But I always think there’s a better option and I always think about the abundance of possibilities that are present. HELP!!!!

Keeping in mind that I type from seeing people, and I can’t actually see you, my gut feeling is that you’re an ENFP with some well developed auxiliary functions.

You sound like you are in a tailspin of possibilities right now…  I feel like if you were an ISFJ, you might have more acceptance or ambivalence about the test result.

I consistently get typed as an INFJ, both by online tests and by people who know me. But I’ve also been told that I have a strong personality and the two seem to be at odds. Do you have any insight? Your writing is very insightful. Thank you :)

Hmm… I think that that says more about your relationships to people and their perceptions of you.  I would say that my INFJ sister has a strong personality, but I think the common perception of her is that she’s calm and extremely quiet.  Hope that helps.
